RAPID CITY | JCPenney officials say they are making the shopping experience in Rapid City more exciting than ever.
The JCPenney at Rushmore Mall is undergoing an extensive one-year renovation to create an all- new store environment with the look and feel of a brand new JCPenney store.
The store closed for renovation on Feb. 23 and to relocate to the mall’s former Target space, opening in its temporary location on Feb. 27. The fully renovated store is expected to reopen in its original space in March 2016.
“At JCPenney, we’re committed to fitting the lifestyles of our Rapid City customers by introducing new and exciting concepts within an updated, yet familiar, store environment,” JCPenney Store Leader Greg Penland said. “Although we will be offering the same great service and style in our temporary space, our entire team looks forward to unveiling the fresh new look of our permanent location one year from now.”
The full remodel of the 101,000-square-foot store will include a completely re-laid floor plan, modern fixtures, energy efficient lighting and new fitting rooms and restrooms. Additionally, the store will offer an enhanced fine jewelry department and a full-service Sephora inside JCPenney, the ultimate beauty destination.
Rapid City JCPenney salon clients will enjoy an all-new hair care experience, beginning Feb. 25. The new JCPenney salon will open in a standalone mall space, and will be located next to the store’s permanent location. The salon will boast an environment based upon the company’s new experience, The Salon by InStyle. The interior will feature a charcoal and black color palette, complete with plush seating, a center floating shampoo station, chic chandeliers and an expanded hair care product assortment. As always, helpful stylists will be available to deliver an advanced approach to cuts, color and client service.
JCPenney’s temporary location is on the north side of Rushmore Mall, at 2200 N. Maple Ave., Ste. 2204. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
