Rich Kerschen joined The Law Company in 1965 and currently serves as chairman of the board. Within his role, he provides leadership and management expertise. Previously, Rich worked at the Missouri Highway Department and then served in the military. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Kansas State University.
Rich has been or is currently involved with the following organizations, many of them within leadership roles: Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America, Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Kansas, College of Engineering Advisory Council at Kansas State University, Leadership Kansas, Legatus, Church of the Magdalen, Intrust Bank N.A., United Way of the Plains, Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce, Guadalupe Clinic, Envision, Goodwill Industries, Via Christi Health Partners, St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Catholic Charities, Anthony Family Shelter, Dear Neighbor Ministries & Step Stone, Sedgwick County Mental Health and Substance Abuse Coalition Board, City of Wichita Airport Authority, and Pratt Community College Foundation.
Married for more than 50 years, Rich and his wife have three children and eight grandchildren.

Dennis Kerschen began his career at The Law Company in 1985 while in high school, working in the equipment yard. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in construction science and management from Kansas State University.
Following college, in 1992 Dennis started working at The Law Company in a full-time capacity. Today, he serves as president, which includes leadership and oversight of project management, business development and estimating, and financial performance.
Dennis currently serves as a board member of the Holy Family Special Needs Foundation with the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. He has also supported, either through leadership or monetary donations, Catholic Charities of Wichita, Goodwill Industries, Associated General Contractors of Kansas and the United Way.
Dennis is married and has three children. In addition to spending time with his family and attending church together, he enjoys running, working out and playing golf.

Marc Porter joined The Law Company in 1987 and currently serves as executive vice president of finance and administration. He oversees financial reporting, information systems, legal, risk management, cash/debt management, planning, investments, taxation, pension administration/investments, and human resources/benefits.
Previously, Marc served as a corporate controller for a publicly held corporation. He has both a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance and a Master of Science degree with an emphasis in accounting from Wichita State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Marc has been inducted into the Wichita Business Journal’s CFO Hall of Fame and is an active Red Cross blood donor.

Shawn Smarsh joined The Law Company in 2012 and currently serves as treasurer. His role includes oversight of all accounting and financing activities.
Shawn’s previous experience was within the residential construction industry. He has a bachelor’s degree in business management and a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Shawn is involved within the community by supporting the United Way, Habitat for Humanity and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).

With The Law Company since 2005, Bill Brand is our director of field operations.
Previously, Bill worked for a large construction company throughout Kansas, Texas and Florida. He held several positions encompassing estimating, project management and construction operations. He has a Bachelor of Science in construction science and management from Kansas State University.
Bill is actively involved with the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Workforce Committee, Supervisory Training Program (STP) as a course instructor, Sedgwick County 4-H, USD 267 Board of Education and USD 267 Industrial Arts Advisory Board. He enjoys spending time with family, in the outdoors and working with his Angus cattle herd.

Derek Dahm joined The Law Company in 1999 and currently serves as chief estimator. His responsibilities include creating pre-construction schedules, participating in design meetings, performing constructability reviews, ensuring the design intent and program requirements are illustrated in the documents, providing schematic and design development estimates, assembling bid packages for hard, select, and negotiated projects, and compiling the final construction budget.
Previously, Derek was a carpenter, tinner and framer. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in construction science and management from Kansas State University. He has also completed the OSHA 30-Hour Construction training, which is designed for construction workers and supervisors. He is a certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Associate.
Derek is married with two children. He enjoys spending time outdoors, watching his kids participate in sports and attending Kansas State University sporting events. Derek is actively involved in his local church.

With The Law Company since 2013, Shawn Grisamore currently serves as our preconstruction services director. His role includes providing owners with best value strategies on time and cost control for their projects, conceptual estimating, hard-bid estimating, business development and recruitment.
Prior to The Law Company, Shawn gained valuable experience in the construction industry during his internships while attending college. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in construction science and management and a minor in business. He has also completed the OSHA 30-Hour Construction training, which is designed for construction workers and supervisors.
Shawn is involved in the community by supporting the United Way, Catholic Charities and Friends of McCain from Kansas State University. Married with two children, Shawn enjoys vacationing with his family, attending Kansas State University athletic events and golfing.

Rob Davis joined The Law Company in 1997 and currently serves as a project manager. His responsibilities include the overall success of projects, specifically, assuring that field supervisory personnel have the information, resources, trades, materials and equipment necessary to efficiently and safely complete the build.
Rob draws on more than two decades of experience and the Bachelor of Science degree in construction science and management that he earned from Kansas State University. He has also completed the OSHA 30-Hour Construction training, which is designed for construction workers and supervisors.
Rob is an active member of his local church.

Steven Koegeboehn originally served The Law Company from 1988 to 1993 and again starting in 2014 as a project manager. He is responsible for fostering client relationships, overall project management, estimating contract changes, budgets, scheduling, contract negotiations, project administration, field coordination, quality control, safety and business development.
Steven has more than three decades of experience within the industry, previously working as a project engineer and superintendent and as a project manager. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in construction science from Kansas State University.
Steven is actively involved in the community through the United Way, Passageways and his local church. He and his wife are the parents of two adult children whom they enjoy traveling to visit regularly.

Jeff Fleming joined The Law Company in 2007 and currently serves as a project manager. His responsibilities include safety oversight, subcontracts, procurement, scheduling, cost control and both relationship management and development.
Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree in construction science and management from Kansas State University. He has a United State Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Quality Control Manager (QCM) Contractors Certification and OSHA 30-Hour Construction training Certification. He is a certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Associate.
Jeff is married with three dogs. He enjoys spending time with his family, teaching Sunday School with his wife and working on home improvement projects.

With The Law Company since 2014, Roy Riggs currently serves as a project manager. He is responsible for the execution of large commercial projects, with an average project size of more than $5.6 million.
Previously, Roy served as a director of development and construction for a Wichita-based hotel and restaurant company. He has an Associate in Applied Science degree with an emphasis in architecture from Northern Virginia College and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in architecture from the University of Kansas. He has also completed the OSHA 30-Hour Construction training, which is designed for construction workers and supervisors.
Roy regularly trains as a first responder for large scale disasters; serves on the board for the Kansas Canoe and Kayak Association; is the Sergeant of Arms for a local chapter of the State Touring and Riding Association; is involved in leadership at Journey Church; and often teaches elementary grade youth. Additionally, he manages a 680-acre farm in southern Kansas.

Kent Pace joined The Law Company in 2015 and currently serves as a project manager. He is responsible for the management of retail remodeling projects.
Kent has more than 40 years of industry experience, previously working as a project manager for Kroger. He has completed secondary courses in refrigeration, materials testing, project management and job site safety.
Kent is involved in the community by providing support to the United Way.

Currently serving as a project manager, Chad Stone joined The Law Company in 2018. Along with overall management of projects, he is responsible for procuring material, scheduling work and negotiating both subcontracts and change order costs.
Chad has nearly two decades of experience within the industry, previously working with another company in a similar role. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in construction science and management from Kansas State University and is a certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Accredited Professional (AP). He is also a certified Quality Control Manager with both Naval Facilities Engineering & Command (NAVFAC) and United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). He has completed the OSHA 10-Hour Construction training. He is a designated Design-Build Institute of American (DBIA) professional.
Chad enjoys spending time in the outdoors both hunting and fishing. He and his family go camping and traveling in an RV, and when possible, go scuba diving in the ocean. He is also involved in his local church.
