Oxford Senior Living is moving forward with its plans to construct a $15 million independent living facility in northwest Wichita.
The company has selected The Law Co. as the general contractor for the Oxford Villa Independent Living Residence project. Oxford Senior Living is adding an independent living component to its campus near 29th Street North and Maize Road.
I’m told construction should start in the coming weeks. Oxford Villa is expected to open in the fall of 2016.
LK Architecture is the project architect.
Construction on Oxford Villa will be concurrent with the building of Oxford Grand Assisted Living & Memory Care in McKinney, Texas, another $15 million project. Oxford Senior Living announced that project Monday.
Oxford Villa, meanwhile, will complement the 77-unit Oxford Grand assisted living and memory care facility, which opened in the fall of 2013.
Company executives decided to move forward with this project because of the success of Oxford Grand and increasing requests for an independent living option on that campus.
Oxford Villa will include 112 units, including studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Covered parking and parking garages also will be offered.
